Fountain pop is far better then canned & bottled pop.
I pop in a can the other day, & it taste so wired.

All I can hear you saying is that you like water with a small amount of syrup and colour thrown in.

When each box of syrup is 50lbs, a little goes along way. It also depends on how the restaurant mixes it. Were I work we mix ours more strong then normal.

What is this “pop” you speak of?
![]() 05/25/2017 at 00:43 |

Pop is for weasels
![]() 05/25/2017 at 00:44 |

It far better then “Soda”, soda is just carbonated water.
![]() 05/25/2017 at 00:46 |

Oh. You mean “soda.”
When I was a kid, there was an old soda fountain in a drug store that was still making it the old fashioned way, mixing syrup with soda water. Now THAT is proper soda.

My ranking goes
1st. Glass bottle
2nd. aluminum can
3rd. fountain(which can be great but usually it’s watered down garbage)
.....
11,000,000th. Plastic bottle

Wrong, it’s pop. Not Soda. I have a soda stream, & it’s great. You carbonate the water, then put in the syrup.
![]() 05/25/2017 at 00:49 |

It’s okay we call it pop in Montana too.
![]() 05/25/2017 at 00:49 |

But carbonated water is called soda.......
![]() 05/25/2017 at 00:50 |

The chains water down their pop to keep cost down, where I work we mix ours with good amount of syrup.

When I first moved to Wisconsin I was so confused when I heard kids say “Pop” I always thought that was something old people said. Like it used to be popular but died out in the 70s. Even my parents always said soda, or coke

Same at my gas station, out fountain Mt. Dew is awesome.
Also some stuff is only available fountain like Culver’s Root beer.

To each their own. I still call it soda. In Scotland they call it a ginger. Other places they call it a fizz or fizzy.

You truly are Crazie.

Fun fact: in most of Colombia, we call it gaseosa which means soda in English, but it’s literally “gaseous drink” or “gassy drink”.
We do also say soda, but when referring to soda water.

exactly the same here. Fountain pop is too inconsistent. Plastic bottle pop is crud.
![]() 05/25/2017 at 01:20 |

This is the proper ranking

To make things easier you can say fizzy drinks (or to possibly make people mad) soda pop :D
![]() 05/25/2017 at 04:18 |

Only if the syrup isn’t too far diluted

And as much as I love the designs that Pininfarina makes, I HATE the taste of the soda that comes out of their newfangled mutli-soda-pop machines. The Coke never tastes right. It always tastes like there are three different sodas all mixed together. Why is it so dam hard to make a good looking soda dispenser that actually works right?

Except no Diet Dr. Pepper. Agreed, otherwise...

Clearly,
soda
is a Democrat nomenclature.

I think a paper cup and from the fountain is the worst. I think the texture of the paper causes it to lose carbonation, and it tastes like a disolved paper cup.

I live in Atlanta and have never heard anyone say “coke” when referring to a drink that isn’t Coke. I still have no clue why people say that this is a thing.

That soda fountain is kind of lame. I like good flavor variety.
Give me something like a Taco Bell soda fountain.
Or a Coke Freestyle Machine

This. Fountain decimates all, but only when mixed correctly which is almost never.
A friend of mine who is a bartender contracted me to help him properly dial in the coke at his restaurant. It’s perfect, although I had to drink enough coke to kill a horse.

Oooooh now you gone done it... thems fightin words.... fizzy drink, soda pop.... what kind of animal are you? Are you trying to get beat up? The correct term is pop. Not soda pop, not soda, not fizzy drink, not fucking coke.... its pop. It’s pretty funny how territorial the term for pop, or soft drink, or whatever you want to call it, is. But around the northern Ohio border and parts north, its pop.

“Wrong, it’s pop. Not Soda. I have a SODA stream” — your Honor, I rest my case.
And Soda Popinski is my favorite name for a video game boxer.

That’s why when I move I am buying my own soda fountain. I love a drink called Big Red and where I’m moving they don’t have it in the fountain.
